Go For It.

"Go For It" meaning: being afraid and going after your dreams anyway. Not letting another person keep you down and going after what you want. Being fearless every single day, even if your circumstances tell you otherwise.
We want women to show up as their best selves. With all the craziness going on in the world, with all that society tells us to be - we think women can overcome every single obstacle that is placed in front of them.
We want women to slay.

It all started when our founder, Ashley Leggs, was sitting at her desk at her corporate job of over 5 years, wanting a change, but not sure which way to go. Ashley was the only black woman on her team and in her region at the firm, and longed for a community where she could come to work just as she was, and not have to "pretend" to be someone she wasn't born to be.

We want women, to show up as their best selves. With all the craziness going on in the world, with all that society tells us to be - we think women can overcome every single obstacle that is placed in front of them.
We wan't women to slay.

"I can't be the only woman that feels this way. I can't be the only woman that knows she's destined for greatness, but her peers treat her otherwise. I can't be the only woman, with big goals, and big dreams."

It all started when our founder, Ashley Leggs, was sitting at her desk at her corporate job of over 5 years, wanting a change, but unsure which way to go. Ashley was the only Black woman on her team and in her region at the firm and longed for a community where she could come to work just as she was, and not have to "pretend" to be someone she wasn't born to be.

Ashley was up for a promotion at her firm, and ready to relocate across the country to Los Angeles. She was more than prepared and ready to make a big life change. However - she was denied. After several interviews and several requests for a job transfer - Ashley had enough. She sat at her desk and said she would become her own boss. She would be the change she wanted to see, not just in the workplace but in every area of a woman's life.

Ashley decided to create her own podcast. A space where women like her, women who looked like her, and women who shared her same experiences, could be seen. She wanted women to "go for it" - even if their bosses, friends, or even family members told them they couldn't do it. To build a community of sisterhood amongst diverse women across the world, by putting out messages through a podcast every week. Messages that encourage women to fight for what they truly believe in. Messages that inspire women to create the lives they’ve always wanted to live - regardless of their backgrounds, circumstances, or income. She started an Instagram account, a website, and a podcast 2 weeks later and called it "Slay Girl Slay".

Now, after 5 years of being a top ranked Apple Podcast, and nearly 3 million downloads worldwide, what started out as just a podcast has now become a global media network. AshMedia Network to be exact. Home of the Slay Girl Slay podcast, and many other podcast, television shows, and film - rooted in authenticity, acceptance, and kinship.
