My oh my…

We have now found ourselves at this special time of year where flowers, and candy, and balloons are an example of the love that men have for us. What a special day!

Totally kidding…sort of.

Valentine’s Day has shifted from being the most dreaded holiday for single women alike, to probably one of the most liberating and entertaining holiday for single girls everywhere. Instead of being sad and sitting on our couches, we’re getting together with our other single girlfriends, hitting the city, going out, and celebrating the love we have for not only ourselves, but the love we have for each other. Valentine’s Day isn’t even a real thing anymore because it’s all about GALEntine’s Day now…and celebrating single girls around the world – and here’s why it’s the best thing ever.

You Can Relax

No need to stress about what dress you’re wearing, if you need to go on a diet plan for the next 3 days to drop a couple of pounds before you see your boo thang – you don’t have to worry about any of it! You could literally do girls night in with your friends, and wear leggings and sweat pants on Valentine’s day this year, and carb it up with pizza, chips, and whatever else your heart desires. No stress zone.

You Have the Freedom to Do, Eat, Sleep, & Drink Where You Want

Carb it up, booze it up, sleep it up, whatever you want to do – you can do. You can do dinner with friends,  or keep to yourself and just spend some quality me time with your self. You can choose to spend the day however you’d like to spend it. There is freedom in knowing that you aren’t committed to any plans or any people – but only committed to you.

You Aren’t Disappointed

How many times have we been disappointed from not getting the right gift (because that doesn’t matter at all) or bae failed to make plans so you got pissed at him, or if we’re being really real – being on a date wondering if you really are the only woman he’s seeing. I think all of us have had a slight feeling of disappointment, or the fear that we would be disappointed, and during this single phase – we don’t have to worry about it.

You Get to Save Your Money Honey

You don’t have to buy a gift! You don’t have to buy an outfit or get your hair or nails done for the day – unless you really want to. But the coins can stay in the bag, because they don’t need to be spent! If you really trying to spend some money – go buy your own self something nice. Gift yourself the way you deserve to be gifted.

Real Love is Still Out There

There is a slight humor we have in all of this – & hoping no one is offended at our single girl celebration. But the truth of the matter is sis…real love is still out there for you, and that’s a celebration in itself. You don’t have to worry about being with the wrong person. Or trying to figure out how your future will turn out with him because your guy is still out there. Hopefully on a crummy date with someone else so he can realize that his future is sitting here reading this post, celebrating herself this week, and has all the love the share one day.
