We always look for good apps to use, and not just take up space on our phones. Space that could otherwise be used for more music storage, or of course – more selfies. We put together a few of our most used apps on our phone (Ash swears by Day One & Lose It) so be sure to check these out in your local app store!
Blinkist: Books in 15 Minutes
Yep – you read that right. Blinkist boast giving you all you need to know in the form of “blinks” from your favorite non fiction books. Books are no more than 15 minutes, and the Blinks are jam packed with a summary of each chapter that you can either read or listen to.
Lose It! Calorie Counter
We know – another calorie counter. But try this one out sis! Super easy to use, and you can type in your goal weight, and Lose It will calculate the amount of calories you should stay within each day to reach that goal weight within a certain time frame. If you’re like us and hate constraints – don’t worry. You can also track your workouts within the app also, which add to your total calorie budget for the day. The more you workout, the less guilty you feel about adding those Peanut M&M’s to the tracker for the day.
Things 3
If you love a good planner, but somehow can’t keep up with the physical one you always buy – this one’s for you! Things 3 keeps you organized, but also lets you plan projects out ahead of time, and break them down into smaller task or “things to do”, which can also be grouped in the time frame you’d like to complete them in. Let’s say you’re just brainstorming, and want to jot down ideas for a future project, Things 3 let’s you do that – but also reminds you that your idea you “jot down”, should be added to your list of things to do at some point.
Mindly
Do you feel like you have 1000 ideas and plans, but not sure how to see them all at one time? Mindly is just what it’s called…it’s the mapping of your mind in app form. You start with one idea and then can add different projects, deadlines, giveaways, events, etc. to that one idea. But let’s say you put in an event, and you have several things you need to plan out and think through for that event – you can do just that! Even if you’re not into the “mind mapping” thing – give this app a try and test it out.
Peloton Digital
In short – if you haven’t heard of Peloton, you’ve been living under a rock. Yes, it’s the brand with that really expensive bike. But news flash boo – you don’t need the bike to still enjoy all the digital workouts Peloton offers. There are a wide variety of classes such as outdoor running, treadmill classes, boot camp classes, yoga, stretching, strength training – the whole nine! All can be done from the comforts of your own local gym. Peloton is a monthly subscription, but does offer a free trial period to test it out.
Day One Journal
This made our last list of apps we love, and we’d be remiss not to add it again. Day One is the journal in your pocket. The journal you can do before bed. The journal you can do while waiting for an Uber, or doing any of your daily activities you normally do. We are all about journaling and writing things down, and this app just does it for us.
Be sure to check out all the apps we recommended in your App Store!
