We are always on the hunt for apps that make our lives more productive, a little easier, and can help with the manifestation of our biggest goals and dreams. Women in charge are running businesses, building brands, running corporate meetings, leading classrooms, and we need apps that can keep up with us in our lives and make them more efficient. With apps literally taking over the world, because let’s face it – there really is an app for everything, the SGS team decided to find what we thought were the best apps out on the market right now in 2018, that we tried and tested so you don’t have to.
Calm
Calm was named the number one app for mindfulness and meditation this past year, and we can certainly see why. If you’re looking to get more into meditation, or even just take a couple of minutes out of the day to calm your mind and re center yourself, Calm is your app. Calm has options for guided meditation for the beginner all the way through the advanced, and is armored with soothing sounds of nature that assist in taking your mind to another place. Millions have reported to have better sleep and less anxiety using the Calm app.
Day One
Day One is a beautifully crafted app that brings out the inner writer in all of us. Day One is a locked journaling app that lets you journal your day to day, while keeping fun logistics like information on where you’re writing from, what the current weather is, the time, and allowing you to add pictures to your daily log. We use journaling as a tool of manifestation here at SGS, and write as if things have already happened in our journals. So for those of you that hate journaling because you feel like you have nothing really to say…write as if you’ve already accomplished your goals and dreams. Journal your day as if you’ve lived the best day of your life with no limitations, exactly how you dream of it in your mind – and watch some shifts start to change in your life.
Sweat
If you haven’t heard about Kayla Itsines you must have been living under a rock. Kayla created the BBG ( Bikini Body Guide) some time ago, promising women a bikini body in just 28 minute workouts. In the app you are able to pick your workouts based on Kaylas recommendations for that week, track your water intake, she tells you how much cardio you should be doing a week, as well as resistance. You are able to track your progess in the app as well as upload progress photos of yourself that Kayla will compare to your newer photos as you progress through the weeks using the app. Need a little more inspiration? Search #bbg on Instagram, and thank us later.
IFTTT
IFTTT is an acronym for “If This Than That”, an incredibly awesome app if you’re all about automation. How can I free up time doing small task that I do on the daily say for my business or my personal life, but still make sure it’s getting done. Automation boo. With IFTTT the “recipes” or commands get the job done for you. IFTTT works with majority of all the other apps you use on your phone, and is lifesaver when you need to be more efficient in your every day. IFTTT can do things like setting your phone automatically to silent based on meetings you have on your calendar, automate task like turning off the lights in your home, and creating daily to do’s based on emails you receive from your coworkers or your boss – automatically!
Instacart
We are all about efficiency in 2018, and Instacart allows your life to be much more efficient. Who hates grocery shopping like we do? With Instacart, you can shop your favorite items, and household goods right from the comforts of your own home on the couch, and someone will do the heavy lifting for you. Much like Uber, Instacart employees do the shopping for you, they pick out the items that you purchased through your app, and deliver them to your door! Instacart also compares prices from your local grocery stores, so you can see where you’re getting the best bang for your buck! Yay to not breaking our arms trying to carry 10 grocery bags in the house at one time!
Trello
If you’re like us and love a to do list, but you have so many to do list you can’t keep track of what, and you’d like to have a to do list for everything but just can’t seem to get it together? Trello is a collaborative work board where you can create list for anything and everything, and in those list make attachments to them, add pictures, add articles, you can even add a friend to your list and they can edit your list too!
